Shashank Shekhar brings a formidable combination of elite institutional pedigree, international legal acumen, and rich courtroom legacy to Vera Causa Legal. As an Advocate-on-Record (AOR) before the Supreme Court of India, he serves as the definitive bridge for complex appellate, constitutional, and commercial litigation at the nation's highest judicial forum. Trusted by the highest levels of government, he concurrently serves as Panel Counsel for the Union of India, the State of Maharashtra, and the State of Madhya Pradesh.
Shashank’s strategic approach to the law was forged in the chambers of some of India’s most revered legal titans. Early in his career, he prepared intricate case briefs involving indirect taxes and constitutional interpretation under the mentorship of Mr. Ranjit Kumar, Former Solicitor General of India. He subsequently honed his constitutional mastery working alongside Hon'ble Mr. Justice P.S. Narasimha (Former Additional Solicitor General and current Judge of the Supreme Court), conducting high-level statutory research and drafting legal opinions for various Union Ministries.
A true scholar of international legal frameworks, Shashank holds dual Master’s degrees—an LL.M. and a Graduate Degree in Alternative Dispute Resolution with a major in International Investment Dispute Resolution—from the prestigious University of Southern California (USC) Gould School of Law. Returning to India, he joined the chambers of his father, the late legal luminary Shri V. Shekhar, Senior Advocate. Under his father's rigorous tutelage, Shashank perfected the art of independent arguing, client counseling, and high-stakes courtroom maneuvering.
Beyond his formidable private practice, Shashank is a recognized leader within the Supreme Court fraternity, having served as an Executive Member of the Supreme Court Bar Association. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Tamil, his practice transcends regional and international borders. Whether he is representing the Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) or navigating complex international investment disputes, he provides clients with an unparalleled blend of intellectual rigor, institutional insight, and unyielding advocacy.
"Advocacy at the highest court demands more than just a mastery of the law; it requires a profound understanding of constitutional intent, a rigorous respect for precedent, and the strategic courage to forge new jurisprudence."
